HAIR B&B UNIVERSITY® PRIVACY POLICY

This Privacy Policy explains how Sound Sci-Lens Multimedia Group LLC ("we," "us" or "our"), the owner of Hair B&B University® and the education brand of Mirella Manelli, collects, uses and protects your information when you use hairbnbuniversity.com, the Hair B&B University app, and our memberships, courses, live sessions, emails and community (together, the "Services").

1. Information we collect

Information you give us:

  • Account details: your name, email address and password when you sign up, join a membership or download a free resource.
  • Purchase details: your billing name, billing address and the plan you bought. Your card details are entered into and processed by our payment providers. We don't see or store your full card number.
  • Profile and community posts: your photo, bio, Instagram handle, and the photos, videos and comments you post in The Campus.
  • Messages: emails, survey answers, testimonials and anything else you send us.
  • Live sessions: if you join a live session, your name, comments, and video and voice (if you turn them on) may be recorded.

Information collected automatically:

  • Usage: which lessons you watch, your progress, and how you use the app and website.
  • Device details: device type, browser, operating system, IP address and general location (city or region).
  • Cookies and similar tools: small files that keep you logged in, remember your settings and help us understand how the site is used (see section 4).
  • Email activity: whether you open our emails and click the links in them.

Information from others:

  • App stores: if you buy through Apple or Google, they share basic purchase details with us so we can give you access.
  • Social media: if you message us or request a free download through Instagram or another platform, we receive the name, handle and email you share.

2. How we use your information

  • To create your account and give you access to what you bought
  • To process payments, renewals and refunds, and to send receipts and renewal reminders
  • To run The Campus and live sessions, and share replays with members
  • To answer your questions and give support
  • To send you emails about lessons, live sessions, offers and updates (you can unsubscribe anytime)
  • To understand what's working and improve our lessons, app and website
  • To show you relevant ads on social media for our own programs
  • To protect our content, prevent fraud and account sharing, and enforce our Terms and Conditions
  • To follow the law

We only use your name, photo, words or work in our marketing outside the Services after we ask you and you say yes.

3. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

  • Service providers that help us run the business, under agreements that limit how they use your information. These include our course, app and email platform (Kajabi), payment processors (such as Stripe and PayPal), app stores (Apple and Google), social messaging tools we use to send free downloads, and analytics and advertising tools.
  • Other members, when you post in The Campus or join a live session. Anything you post there can be seen by other members.
  • Professional advisors, such as our accountant or attorney, when needed.
  • The law, when required by a court order or law, or to protect our rights, our members or the public.
  • A new owner, if our business is sold or merged, in which case this Privacy Policy will continue to protect your information.

4. Cookies and tracking

We and our service providers use cookies, pixels and similar tools to keep you logged in, remember your settings, measure how people use the site, and show ads for our programs on social media. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work without them.

Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no common standard for these signals yet, so our site does not respond to them.

5. Emails and messages

If you sign up for a free resource, the free app or a membership, we'll send you emails. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Even if you unsubscribe, we'll still send emails about your account, billing and renewals.

6. Your choices and rights

You can ask us to:

  • Tell you what personal information we have about you and send you a copy
  • Correct information that's wrong
  • Delete your information (we may keep what the law requires, such as purchase records)
  • Stop using your information for social media advertising
  • Stop sending you marketing emails

To make a request, email [email protected] with the subject "Privacy Request" from the email address on your account. We'll confirm it's you and respond within 45 days. We won't treat you differently for using these rights.

You can also update your account details and delete posts you've made in The Campus yourself, anytime.

7. California residents

We're based in California, and California residents have the rights listed in section 6. In the past 12 months we collected the kinds of information listed in section 1, for the purposes in section 2, and shared them only as described in section 3. We do not sell personal information. When we use advertising tools that may count as "sharing" under California law, you can opt out by emailing us as described in section 6.

Under California's "Shine the Light" law, you may ask once a year whether we've shared your personal information with other companies for their own marketing. We don't.

8. Children

The Services are for adults and beauty professionals. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. Memberships require you to be 18 or older. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.

9. How long we keep it

We keep your information while you have an account or membership, and after that only as long as we need it for the reasons in this policy, such as tax, accounting and legal records.

10. Security

We use trusted platforms and reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No website or app is 100% secure, so please use a strong password and keep it private.

11. Users outside the U.S.

We're based in the United States, and your information is stored and processed here.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. If we make a significant change, we'll email members or post a notice in the app. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed.
