Terms & Conditions
HAIR B&B UNIVERSITY® TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Last updated: 10/6/2026
These Terms and Conditions (the "Terms") are an agreement between you and Sound Sci-Lens Multimedia Group LLC, the owner of Hair B&B University® ("Hair B&B University," "HBBU," "we," "us" or "our"). They cover your use of hairbnbuniversity.com, the Hair B&B University app, and any membership, course, download, live session or community we offer (together, the "Services").
By checking the box at checkout, creating an account, or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Services.
1. Memberships
1.1 Free access. Anyone can download the Hair B&B University app and use the free lessons and the free areas of the community.
1.2 Paid memberships. The Dean's List is our paid membership. Depending on your plan, it includes the video lesson library, monthly live sessions and replays, The Campus community, and, for yearly members, our downloadable resources. The exact contents of each plan are shown on the checkout page when you buy.
1.3 Who can join. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to buy a membership.
2. Billing and automatic renewal
2.1 Monthly plan. You're charged the monthly price shown at checkout on the day you join and on the same day each month after that.
2.2 Yearly plan. You're charged the yearly price shown at checkout on the day you join and on the same date each year after that.
2.3 Automatic renewal. Your membership renews automatically at the end of each billing period and your card on file is charged, until you cancel. By checking the box at checkout, you agree to these recurring charges.
2.4 Yearly renewal reminder. Before a yearly membership renews, we'll email you a reminder with the renewal date, the price, and how to cancel.
2.5 Price changes. We may change membership prices. If the price of your plan changes, we'll email you at least 30 days before the new price applies, and you can cancel before then. Promotional or special rates renew at the rate stated when you bought them.
2.6 Failed payments. If a payment fails, we may retry it and may pause or end your access until it goes through.
2.7 App store purchases. If you buy through the Apple App Store or Google Play, that store handles your billing, renewals, cancellations and refunds under its own rules.
3. Canceling
3.1 You can cancel anytime from your account settings at hairbnbuniversity.com, or by emailing [email protected].
3.2 When you cancel, your membership won't renew. You keep access until the end of the billing period you already paid for.
4. Refunds
4.1 Because you get instant access to digital lessons and downloadable resources, all payments are final and non-refundable, including partial months or years.
4.2 If you were charged by mistake, such as a duplicate charge, email us within 30 days and we'll fix it.
4.3 Nothing in these Terms limits any refund rights you have under the law where you live.
5. Your account
5.1 Your membership is for you only. Please don't share your login, and don't let anyone else watch, download or use the Services through your account.
5.2 You're responsible for keeping your password safe and for everything that happens under your account.
5.3 Please keep your email address current. It's your login and how we reach you about billing and renewals.
6. Our content
6.1 All lessons, videos, live sessions, replays, downloads, worksheets, scripts, guides, techniques, names, logos and other materials in the Services ("Content") belong to Sound Sci-Lens Multimedia Group LLC or Mirella Manelli and are protected by copyright and trademark law. Hair B&B University® is a registered trademark of Sound Sci-Lens Multimedia Group LLC.
6.2 While your membership is active, we give you a personal, non-transferable license to watch the Content and use what you learn in your own work behind the chair. You may print or save downloads for your own business use.
6.3 You may not copy, record, screen-record, resell, share, post, teach from, or redistribute any Content, in whole or in part, without our written permission. That includes sharing downloads with other stylists or posting lessons on social media.
6.4 We regularly add, update and retire lessons. The library may change over time, and specific lessons are not guaranteed to stay available.
7. Live sessions
7.1 Live sessions are recorded and replays are shared with members. If you join a live session, your name, comments, and your video and voice (if you turn them on) may appear in the recording.
7.2 Dates and times of live sessions may change. We'll do our best to give notice in the app or by email.
8. The Campus community
8.1 The Campus is a supportive space for stylists. Be kind and respectful. Harassment, hate speech, spam, selling or recruiting without permission, sharing other people's private information, and posting anything illegal are not allowed.
8.2 Advice from other members is their opinion. Use your own professional judgment.
8.3 We may remove posts or end access for anyone who breaks these rules, with no refund.
9. What you post
9.1 You own the photos, videos and comments you post ("Your Content"). Only post work you have the right to share, and get your client's permission before posting photos of them.
9.2 By posting in the Services, you give us permission to show Your Content inside the Services. We will ask you first before using your name, photos or words in our marketing outside the Services.
10. Privacy and emails
10.1 Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use your information.
10.2 By joining, you agree to receive emails about your account, billing and membership. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails anytime, and we'll still send account and billing emails.
11. Results
11.1 The Services are for education. We don't promise any specific result, income, number of clients or business growth. Student stories and examples we share are real experiences, and your results depend on your skill, effort, market and many other things.
11.2 Business, pricing and tax topics are general education, not legal, tax or financial advice. Talk to a licensed professional about your own situation.
12. Your professional responsibility
12.1 You're responsible for holding any license required where you work and for following your state's cosmetology rules.
12.2 Before using any technique or product on a client, use your professional judgment. That includes doing consultations, strand tests and patch tests, and following the product maker's directions.
12.3 You're responsible for the services you perform on your clients. We are not responsible for any result, reaction, damage or injury from services you perform.
13. Products and brands
We may mention or use products and brands in lessons. Some brands may be partners of ours, and we'll tell you when content is sponsored. A product mention isn't a guarantee that it's right for your client.
14. Ending access
We may suspend or end your access, with no refund, if you break these Terms, share your account, copy or redistribute Content, or file a payment dispute without first contacting us. You can stop using the Services at any time.
15. Disclaimers
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available." We work hard to keep the app and website running, but we can't promise they will always be available, error-free or uninterrupted.
16. Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Sound Sci-Lens Multimedia Group LLC and Mirella Manelli are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, including lost income or lost clients. Our total liability for any claim related to the Services is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
17. Indemnity
You agree to cover any claims, costs or damages (including reasonable attorney fees) brought against us because of services you performed on clients, Your Content, or your breaking these Terms.
18. Disputes and governing law
18.1 If you have a problem, please email [email protected] first. Most issues can be fixed quickly that way.
18.2 These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any legal action will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Orange County, California, except that either of us may bring a claim in small claims court.
19. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If we make a significant change, we'll email members or post a notice in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Services after that means you accept the updated Terms.
